![]() ![]() In fact, I recall the police investigator falling in love with one of the servants in the ITV version.Īnd from what my mum told me, the ITV version had the vicar character somewhat involved in the murder plot. The story’s end also feels downbeat in the BBC version compared to the ITV one where it was happier. For the first episode and the second episode’s first half, we are given time to get to know the characters. It does take a while for the murder to be committed until the second half of the second episode. ![]() Seeing the BBC version has been interesting throughout. I have seen the ITV version of this tale, but I have vague memories of it despite knowing Peter Davison was in it.Īnd if the ITV versions are anything to go by, I’m inclined to believe the BBC versions more since they’re mostly faithful to the original book. ‘At Bertram’s Hotel’ was shown on the 25th of January and the 1st of February in 1987. This is presented as a 2 x 50 minute episode story and based on the original 1965 novel by Agatha Christie. The seventh story of the ‘Miss Marple’ series starring Joan Hickson is ‘At Bertram’s Hotel’. Please feel free to comment on my review. ![]()
